"Who is Levi Lankford, and why is his site called Levi's Genes?" My background has had a huge influence on my career choice as a marketer and writer.

Over the past nine years, I have had the opportunity to hone my marketing skills and work with truly talented people. I put a lot of effort into what I do, and I'm proud to show it off!

Experience

MOVEMENT MORTGAGE, MARKETING CAMPAIGN MANAGER

 November 2020 - Present

I strategize, develop, lead and oversee marketing campaigns focused on Movement's business goals and customer segments. I create campaigns for recruiting, loan servicing and retention, mortgage refinancing, VA loans, conventional loans, FHA loans, and other mortgage products for our D2C teams and retail loan officers.

A key part of this role is creating an inbound marketing strategy that is tailored the unique needs of our customer segments and understanding how our loan products can help them achieve their home ownership goals.

THE YMCA OF GREATER CHARLOTTE, STRATEGIC MARKETING COPYWRITER

 August 2018 - November 2020

The YMCA of Greater Charlotte is a non-profit organization and a staple in our community. It’s my job to find fresh and creative ways to deliver digital and traditional marketing copy that helps our Membership, Program, and Financial Development teams thrive.

From multi-million dollar programs to small local events, I have been a central figure in developing the YMCA of Greater Charlotte’s voice within the marketplace. Each message that I create must resonate with individual segments of the communities we serve. From first-time exercisers to experience fitness enthusiasts, teen part-time workers to retired volunteers, and underserved community members to prominent philanthropists, my copy is carefully crafted to maximize the impact on every reader.

TapTime TV, Digital Marketing Strategist & Copywriter (Freelance)

 June 2016 - August 2018

TapTime TV is an expanding digital sign company located in Martinsburg, West Virginia. They have created a digital network of TVs that are located in highly-trafficked businesses around the area that combine entertainment and local business ads. 

As the Digital Marketing Strategist and Copywriter, I help develop the brand's message and assist in creating growth strategies to expand into surrounding areas. I write web copy, social media posts, print materials, and compelling copy for each host location’s public display ads. 

Practis inc, Digital Marketing Specialist

August 2016 - March 2018

Practis is a digital marketing firm that focuses solely on healthcare. As a digital marketing specialist, I was responsible for approximately 30 client's marketing strategy and implementation, including search engine optimization, web page development, landing pages, blogs, directory listing management, and social media marketing. 

In addition to these duties, I was responsible for streamlining our agency's internal content development process. During my time at Practis, I have developed a content request system that allows other agency members to make requests for blogs and web pages and notifies them automatically via e-mail when it has been completed. I have also created a social media library that stores an inventory of evergreen social media posts that can be filtered by healthcare specialty. 

The Idea People, Sr. Content Marketer

April 2014 - April 2016

The Idea People is a digital marketing agency in Charlotte, NC. My role as the senior content marketer was to develop press releases, website copy, blogs, social media posts, video scripts, e-mail blasts, and landing pages. We mainly utilized the inbound methodology for our clients.

While at The Idea People, I saw there was a need for video content. In addition to my daily writing responsibilities, I learned how to shoot video and use Adobe Premiere and After Effects to edit.

Ecton Media, CopyWriter

January 2013 - February 2014

Ecton Media was a small startup marketing agency in Hagerstown, Maryland. My role as a copywriter was to develop internal marketing materials as well as content for clients. This included press releases, blogs, newsletters, proposals, white papers, sales-oriented social media posts, engagement-oriented social media posts, online/print ads, and analytical reports.
